Befriend your body ~ hear your still small voice

I could not heal until I trusted,
from within my own body,
a Love greater than my wounds.

ABOUT GAYLIE CASHMAN

I started taking classes at George Fox Evangelical Seminary in order to find healing for my distorted sense of spirituality. I was beginning to see a loving, generous image of God, and yet whenever I sat quietly in prayer I would become physically overwhelmed by old repressed anxiety.  Earlier trauma was still embedded in my body, keeping me disconnected so I couldn’t feel present and peaceful.

When I began training to be a practitioner of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy I experienced myself beginning to reconnect. Through this spiritually neutral body-oriented awareness process, I accessed buried feelings and exchanged old, unhealthy thinking. New perspectives began transforming my life story with meaning. It proved to be an invaluable way to experience the love of God in a more genuine way.

My passion is to be a bridge of reconciliation for the whole person - body, mind, soul, and spirit. I support the process of reconnecting what is disconnected, especially for those who have been wounded by human relationships that negatively affected their image of self and God. An embodied approach to well-being and spiritual formation evolved from this passion.

“An inner peace - a joining
in myself of my inner child

“I did not know all that was in there.
I rarely, if ever,
focus on myself,
and it was very insightful.”
